Information We Collect

Account Identity Data
Full name, active Algerian phone number, wilaya/province, and email address (if provided).
Driver Partner Data
Driver's license photo, vehicle registration card, vehicle model, and registered wilayas.
Trip & Interaction Data
Pickup/dropoff coordinates, distance, timestamps, order history, and mutual ratings.
GPS & Background Location Data Usage
Access to location data is an essential core requirement for providing real-time ride booking and navigation:
SAHEL Rider App:
Rider location data is collected only while using the app (In-Use) to pinpoint pickup spots accurately, display nearby available drivers, and track current trip progress.
Prominent Disclosure: SAHEL Driver Background Location Access
The SAHEL Driver application collects precise location data even when the app is closed or not in use (in the background):
- Purpose & Purpose: Background access is required to deliver incoming nearby trip dispatch requests, provide passengers with live arrival updates, accurately compute distance and fares, and ensure safety throughout the trip.
- Scope of Collection: Background collection occurs exclusively when the driver sets their status to "Online / Ready for Work".
- Stopping Tracking: Background location tracking stops immediately once the driver toggles status to "Offline" or closes duty mode.
- Privacy Safeguard: Background location data is never used for advertising or commercial purposes and is never sold to third parties.
How We Use Your Data
- Facilitating ride matching between passengers and drivers and optimizing routes.
- Computing fair ride fares based on distance and duration.
- Ensuring ride safety and verifying user and driver identities.
- Providing customer support and resolving inquiries.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
Only the minimal data required to complete trip fulfillment is shared:
- Between Driver & Passenger: The driver sees rider name, pickup location, and phone number for trip contact. The rider sees driver name, photo, vehicle model, and license plate number.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose data when legally mandated by Algerian judicial or security authorities.
Data Security & Encryption
We implement high-grade security protocols (SSL/TLS encryption and protected servers) to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure of user information.
Data Retention & Account Deletion
We retain data as long as your account remains active. Any user has the right to request full account closure and personal data deletion via in-app support or email request.
User Rights & Controls
You can manage location permissions and preferences at any time via your smartphone settings, and update profile details directly within the app.
